Beautiful shot! One question, how do you get a black background to be black? I just don't understand xD

Thank you! :aww:
To answer your question, I zoomed into the horse so that the lens focused more on the horse's face than the background. I then adjusted the contrast so to increase the amount of black. And there you got it! :meow:

Really beautiful but a bit too dark.

That's what I was concerned about! I could've brightened it up a bit more, but I was worried to loose the effect darkness has on the photo. It's the whole point of it. It could also be the computer screen - shades and tones, I realized, vary from laptop to laptop, or computer to computer.

Yeah, that screen thing is a problem sometimes since I had some of my photos (which are also here) made as paperversions and they were too dark or too light from what they appear here. If I'd only know what's the right screen setting for viewing that it also gives the actual impression.
I also figured that you might have had problems with losing the dark background. One thing could be cropping the horse's head out, making it lighter and setting it on black backround.
Or figuring with which camera setting you get a photo like that but more light on the object. (Which I'm in a processing of learning and don't know the answer yet).
=)
